Official Response

Hi all,
Thanks so much for all the information. We are volunteers helping to monitor the forum and troubleshoot concerns when possible. The Google internal team is aware of this concern and it is being investigated by the engineering team. Currently there is no Google workaround or fix released just yet, but rest assured they are aware and working on it.
A user workaround found currently is to use YouTube kids not signed in. But understandably that will not work for all users because lack of controls.
We will report back as soon as we hear any more information.
